Terms & Conditions
- Cut flowers and wreaths may be placed on the grave at the time of interment, but the Manager reserves the right to remove them after 1 week
- No marking of the grave in any way is allowed, except for random planting of accepted wild flowers. Any vases, ornament etc will be removed and disposed of.
- Pre-booked plots can be chosen at random, within the stricture of the plot and woodland management plan
- In the event of a small pre-booked ashes plot, that is surrounded by large burial plots, being changed to a burial plot, the management will endeavour to inter as close to the original chosen place as possible.
- Graves will be machine dug, but hand dug where necessary.
- Families may assist with the filling of the grave & tree planting, at their own risk, with prior arrangement and under supervision of the Sexton.
- Trees will be planted only between November & March. 'Failures' will be replaced at the discretion of the management.
- The woodland management plan involves the planting of 'dedicated' Sessile Oak trees, which will be surrounded by a nursery crop of Downy Birch. Alternative species may be chosen with prior arrangement, from the short list incorporated in The Woodland Management Plan.
- The Management reserves the right to thin and coppice the wood in years to come where necessary. The dedicated Sessile Oaks remain untouched.
- Each grave will be accurately recorded using a microchip identification system.
- The coffin or container should be made of bio-degradable material. Hard wood containers are not acceptable. As far as possible the use of preservatives is discouraged.
- No exhumations will be permitted under any circumstances, except by lawful authority.
- Scattering of ashes will only be allowed on the meadow area.
- DOGS MUST BE KEPT ON A LEAD AT ALL TIMES. Faeces must be removed.
- Access will always be available during daylight hours.
- Physical remembrances will be in the adjoining memorial area only and must be acceptable to the Management.
- Religious or Secular graveside ceremonies must be carried out in a dignified
Manner. Families who do not wish to use a funeral director, can obtain advice and guidance from the burial ground manager.
The Trustees reserve the right to vary the Terms & Conditions at any time.
